Hey there my friends…
So, today I wanted to share some more blogging tips…
That’s what your looking for Right??
Before I get into sharing those great tips.. I want to share some info about being consistent and patient.
What I have noticed from a lot of Entrepreneurs and Network Marketers that I mentor is that they think this is a fast way to generate traffic (and it can be) but, that all depends on how much they are willing to work in order to get the results they want and what their definition of fast is.
They think that floods of traffic are going to literally come and visit their blog overnight and the truth is that it is NOT!!
That’s why I called this post Keyword Research tips for Long Term Traffic! …and not Keyword Research for fast and quick traffic.
Like anything, this takes time and work. This takes commitment and consistency. I just wanted to get that out of the way, before I begin sharing my tips on Keyword Research tips for long term traffic, for your MLM Blog or any blog for that matter…
So, you’ve spent some time building out your blog, your beginning to post a few posts and you are slowly seeing your Alexa traffic rank “creep” up slowly…
However, it is still not enough traffic and you still do not have enough people looking at who you are and what you have to offer.
Now don’t get me wrong here… Posting on your blog is obviously the first step towards generating traffic to your blog.
But, what about generating a steady source of traffic/readers that are searching through the search engines… On content you have and provide??!!
The key is knowing how to use “keywords” so that people can find your great content. As you know, people search the search engines for everything they need and want. And they do this by typing in the keywords they think will lead them to the best source of information… In essence, the best websites that will have the answers and solutions to their questions or problem.
So, you as a blog owner know that you need to rank high in the search engines. You need to position your site in front of your potential prospects or buyers.
And we do this by optimizing our blog with targeted keywords!
We do this by doing some good ol’ keyword research…
Fortunately there is a tool called Google Adwords Keyword Tool that is free and is easy to use. It is very useful to see what phrases you are competing for.
So here are some great Keyword Research Tips For Long Term Traffic…
1. Find a Keyword that has little competition.
Use Google Adwords tool, to find some ideas that fit into the content that you are sharing. Enter your ideas into the Phrase or word box and select Search. You will have a list of monthly searches and competition. Below that you have other ideas to look at. You want your competition to be low and the search volume to be high. You can even try some synonyms. I usually like to find a keyword that has at least 3,500+ monthly searches with low to medium competition…
2. In your blog post, make sure to put your key words or phrase at least once in both your introduction and conclusion.
This will let Google know this is relevant content to the keywords. Make sure to put the keywords in your title. If you can get it in first or second word of the title, all the better, but make sure your writing flows. Note: On a side note, make sure you content is UNIQUE!!
3. Make your Blog keyword stand out!
It is important to use Bold, Italics and quotes on you chosen words. Skip underling that makes it look like a link and can frustrate people.
- Enter the tags. They are useful.
- Title any pictures you add with your key words. Remember Google has image searches too.
- Make sure words are not run together. When your separating a phrase or words use a hyphen (-) and not an underscore (_). Google doesn’t separate words that are run together or underscored
- Don’t Stuff Your Article. Putting your key phrases over and over in your article will not win you any points. Let it be natural. You can get penalized by Google for that.
- Write your article with your keywords in mind. However don’t force keywords on an article.
- Keep your keywords to 6 or 7 or less. If you have to many they for sure will be irreverent to your content.
Now that you know some basic principles go out there and blog away. Remember, this is not a get fast instant traffic method of traffic…. It is a long term way of traffic that will pay off for many years to come…
Blogging should be fun, entertaining and provide plenty of “value” and information… People are looking for information… Remember that the next time you post!!
Happy Blogging my friends!
